Peace of Mind Event

We would like to thank everyone who attended last night’s Peace of Mind event in Waterford City Hall! It was great to see so many local people, service providers and specialists having an interest in ways to promote positive mental health in our Community.

Also, a huge shout out to Ann Baron from Samaritans Waterford and South East, John Dempsey from Pieta. Ending Suicide. Beginning Hope, Leslie Hughes from Laochas – The Warrior Soul Project, Paul Beech, Michael Stafford from The Chapter Coach, Andy Kerrigan from Shine Ireland, Jennifer Davy from Wellbeing Warrior, and Sandra Crowley, Vice-Chairwoman of Waterford Disability Network for taking the time to come and speak at our event. It was great listening to what you all had to say!

Grateful thanks to the Granary Cafe Waterford for providing a delicious array of finger food during the interval.

Due to the amount of requests we received, WDN are announcing that Peace of Mind will be an annual event every November.

We would also like to thank WLR FM, Kyle Butler, Noel Brown and Waterford In Your Pocket for covering and promoting the event; and thank you to Waterford City and County Council for providing the large room and facilities.

(More pictures to come).

Waterford Disability Network are thrilled to be shortlisted for the 2022 Public Participation Awards (PPN).

Waterford Public Participation Network (PPN) is a network of more than 750 community, voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organizations in the Waterford City & County area. The PPN replaced the Community Fora in 2014. It is the main link through which the Local Authority connects with the communities.

Best of luck to all groups shortlisted for this prestigious event acknowledging those that volunteer in their Community and to all organizations that work so hard and submitted applications, working under the radar to help others.
